  • You have a developmental disability (and need help with a problem related to your disability).
  • You have a psychiatric disability (and need help with a problem related to your disability).
  • You have a traumatic brain injury (and need help with a problem related to your disability).
  • You have a disability and believe your civil rights have been violated, because of your disability.
  • You are the parent of a child with a disability and need help obtaining special education services for your child.
  • You have a disability and need help obtaining assistive technology. (Some examples of assistive technology are wheelchairs, communication devices, electronic door openers and prosthetics.)
  • You receive SSI or SSDI, and need help with benefit-related issues due to active or anticipated employment.
  • You are a resident of the Riverview or Dorothea Dix psychiatric treatment center.
  • You have questions about your right to vote and/or accessible voting.

The Disability Rights Center makes decisions on who they will represent based on a number of factors. Factors used in the decision:

  • The integrity of your claim;
  • Whether your claim falls under one of our priority areas;
  • Whether your claim has the potential to achieve systemic change for people with disabilities;
  • The availability of resources at the Disability Rights Center.

You may not be eligible for our services if you are entitled to receive appointed legal services from another source.
